FC DALLAS DRIBBLE, PASS AND SCORE COMPETITION RETURNING TO DALLAS AREA

Boys and Girls Ages 6 to 14 will have the opportunity to put their skills to the test against the area’s best!!!

 

FC Dallas would like to invite your association to participate in our 2008 Dribble, Pass and Score competition.  In the past the competition was sponsored by Sierra Mist but the program unfortunately ended with the expiration of their partnership with Major League Soccer.  When the competition was in place, the DFW-Metroplex averaged nearly 8,000 kids each year!  In continuing to strive to provide unique experiences for kids to develop their skills, we are bringing the program back!

 

The competition is focused on testing the skills of local youth players in three important categories; dribbling, passing, and shooting.  Each player will be judged on their performance and earns a cumulative point total at the end of the event.  After all the area competitions are completed, FC Dallas will invite the top participants in each age group to participate in the finals at Pizza Hut Park prior to FC Dallas’ final regular season home game on Saturday, October 11th.  More prizes will be finalized in the near future, but we wanted to provide you with this information now to expedite the finalization of area locations.

 

Perhaps the best part of this concept is that there is no monetary investment required to hosting the event.  The only commitment we ask is that you provide one (1) field where we can host the competition, assistance in trying to find ten (10) to twelve (12) volunteers, and a willingness to promote the competition to your members via web, email, phone, and mail.  Each volunteer who helps with the event will receive four (4) free seats to the game on October 11th in appreciation of their help and support.

 

Coaches are strongly encouraged to use this competition to highlight these skills in practice sessions leading up to the event.

Start Date:  August 16to September 27

 

Location:  Your Association’s Field Complex

 

Volunteers Needed:  Ten (10) to Twelve (12)

 

Registration:  $10 per Player (Associations can subsidize registration fees);

Includes a free ticket to the October 11th FC Dallas vs. Toronto season finale.
